The World Karate Federation has a project called Guardian Girls. It provides opportunities for girls aged 8 to 15 to learn and participate in karate. Through the Guardian Girls project, girls practice, learn, and compete with each other in karate. This process identifies girls with high potential and supports them to become karateka, and when they become karateka over time, it has the advantage of breaking the stereotype of karate being a male-dominated sport and encouraging female participation in karate. The World Karate Federation hopes that this project will have a positive impact on the sport.
